Content management for publishing and managing media content
Our content management system provides a quick and easy way for organisations to manage and distribute content. The system allows internal and external users to add articles, events, media assets, group information and decide content and areas of the site end users can view.
We have adopted the MODx Open Source Content Management Framework and use this for developing creative solutions based on the LAMP platform:
- Linux (operating system)
- Apache (web server application)
- mySQL (database)
- php (coding language)
So why did we go with MODx? It is fast to implement, flexible for implementing innovative web apps, scalable, robust but above all wins all around on search engine optimisation (SEO), as well as assisting us to forge a method for indexing media assets.
Most of our applications centre on visual content integration and manipulation with information that interacts with animations and rich media for representation in innovative solutions. MODx provides us with the flexibility to get into the intricacies of visual layouts and customise every aspect of the implementation. The template structure provides complete control of the look and feel.
We have full control of plug-ins, accessibility to the core of MODx and adopt a service oriented architecture for interaction with external sources, and feeds whilst ensuring the underlying codebase structure remains intact.
